To access the Library's databases from home, or anywhere off-campus, click on the following link.
Off-campus access (UOW staff and students only)
When prompted insert your University username* and password.
- On the next screen click the "Back to Library homepage" link.
*This is the same username used to access the Staff Web Kiosk for payroll and leave information. Any student, staff member, or clinical lecturer with the University of Otago who does not have a University ID will be able to obtain one through their University of Otago departmental administrator.
Don’t have a university username?
Students: University of Otago students should contact the IT Helpdesk: Note that University usernames expire on termination of course for students or on termination of employment for staff.

Staff: University of Otago staff members should contact their department administrator. They may need to download the following form from the University of Otago computer network for you to complete: External Username and/or ID Card pdf
If you aren’t a University of Otago staff member or student but have a signed and authorised agreement (signed by the relevant Dean or Pro Vice-Chancellor) to provide teaching, clinical supervision or research services to the University then you may be entitled to a username. Please complete the following form and take it to your University of Otago department administrator: EU App Form Library pdf
