Current Research

The group is runs a number of research projects. From multi-year projects to smaller ones with summer students or medical students.

Current major projects include:

Health of Occupants of Mouldy Environments:- This study examines whether young children in damp, mouldy homes are more likely to develope asthma than young children living in drier homes.

Warm Homes for Elder New Zealanders :- many New Zealand homes are cold, this project examines the feasibility of using warmth as a medicine to reduce winter illness.

The Healthy Housing Index:- the relationship between injury in the home and features of the home are being examined in the roll-out of the Healthy Housing Index in Taranaki.

The Housing, Crowding and Health Study :- this multi-year study examines the effect of households moving into social housing on their wellbeing.
