Our Department is a compact multidisciplinary group dedicated to the teaching of medical undergraduates, performing clinical and laboratory research, and providing a range of clinical services to patients.

Current Events at the Department of Surgery & Anaesthesia, 2009

The 2 weeks Advanced Clinical Skills module was organized by the Department of Surgery & Anaesthesia for all incoming 4th year medical students at the beginning of 2009. The aim of the module was to introduce the students to the clinical environment. In order to achieve this, the students attended a variety of tutorial and practical sessions in relation to “Taking a Patient History” and the “Physical Examination”.

The successful completion of this was celebrated with a Cake Competition.

1. Prize went to Sally Easther for her “Whole Orange Cake with Macaroon Topping”

2. Prize went to Elinor Millar for her “Dark Chocolate & Hazelnut Cake”
