The Wellington Asthma Research Group (WARG)
is a multidisciplinary team of researchers based in the Department
of Medicine at the University of Otago, Wellington.
Our research programme covers clinical, biomedical and public
health aspects of asthma research, including studies to understand
the causes of asthma and also the study of novel treatments.
The objectives centre on identifying the causes of asthma, the
factors that determine severity, and the development of strategies
for prevention and improved management.
Funding for WARG's research comes from a wide variety of sources
but our core funding is provided by the Health Research Council
of New Zealand.
